If you have both a domain property (representing the entire domain) and a URL prefix property (specific to the HTTPS version of your website) in Google Search Console, it should not cause index errors by itself.

Having both properties is not a problem, and it's common for websites to have multiple properties in Search Console for different variations of their domain (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS, www, non-www). Each property allows you to monitor and analyze the performance, indexing, and search traffic for that specific version of your website.

However, to prevent potential indexing issues, you should ensure the following:

Consistent Preferred Version: Set a preferred version of your website (HTTP or HTTPS) and be consistent with it across all your properties. Choose whether you prefer the "www" or "non-www" version and whether you want to use HTTPS. You can specify your preference in Google Search Console by selecting a preferred domain (www or non-www).

Redirects and Canonicalization: Properly redirect all variations of your website to the preferred version using 301 redirects. For example, if you prefer the HTTPS version, ensure that HTTP requests are redirected to HTTPS. Additionally, use the canonical tag on your web pages to specify the preferred version of each page.

No Duplicate Content: Avoid having duplicate content across different versions of your website. Google may index both the HTTP and HTTPS versions separately, which can lead to duplicate content issues. Make sure your content is consistent and accessible only through the preferred version.

Sitemap Submission: Submit the correct sitemap for the preferred version of your website (HTTP or HTTPS) to Google Search Console. This will help Google discover and index your pages efficiently.

By handling the above aspects properly, you can ensure that Google indexes the correct version of your website and avoids potential indexing errors or duplicate content issues. Regularly monitor both properties in Google Search Console to keep track of the indexing status and performance of your website.
