Having two properties in Google Search Console for the same website with different prefixes (domain and https) should not cause any significant problems. Here's how the two properties are different:

Domain Property ("example.com"):

URL Prefix Property ("https://example.com/"):

The URL prefix property is specific to the exact URL you provide during verification. In this case, it only includes the "https://example.com/" version of your website.
Having both properties can be beneficial because you can get more detailed data and insights about each version. It allows you to monitor performance, indexing, and search traffic for both the HTTP and HTTPS versions of your website separately.

However, it's essential to set a preferred version of your website (HTTP or HTTPS) and be consistent with it across all your properties. You can set the preferred version in Google Search Console by choosing a preferred domain (www or non-www) and using the canonical tag on your web pages.

To avoid potential duplication issues, ensure that both the HTTP and HTTPS versions of your website are properly redirected to the preferred version, and you are using the canonical tag to specify the preferred version of your pages.

In summary, having both domain and URL prefix properties in Google Search Console is not a problem, but it's crucial to handle HTTPS and HTTP versions correctly to avoid duplicate content issues and provide a clear signal to Google about your preferred version.
